Electrolux to Increase Prices by Up to 5% Effective June 1

Kurt Hegvold, Managing Director of Electrolux Australia and New Zealand, announced that starting June 1, 2025, Electrolux will raise its product prices by an average of 4.5% to 5%, depending on the product, category, and brand. The price increase is primarily due to the recent depreciation of the Australian dollar and projected significant rises in freight costs in the second half of the year—especially due to increased U.S. shipping activity. Hegvold noted that this is the first freight-related price rise in two years and that intense market competition and frequent promotions have offset some of the impact. The price adjustment aims to counter margin pressures from rising costs, with an expected full-year margin reduction of about 150 basis points. Electrolux has informed retailers of the changes and will maintain current promotional pricing through June, with adjustments to follow in the new financial year.
